This book was produced with Quarto, typeset in Source Serif 4, with code blocks set in JetBrains Mono. The command examples target Git 2.40 or later and the GitHub CLI (gh) 2.40 or later.

The book is hosted at https://git-intermediate.rgtlab.org on Netlify, with continuous deployment via GitHub Actions from the rgt47/git-intermediate repository on every push to main. The deployment recipe is in HOSTING.md.

The cover is generated procedurally by images/build-cover.R from a slate gradient anchored on #2c4a5e (the volume’s brand steel blue). Re-running the script regenerates the cover; the procedural approach makes it reproducible and editable in version control rather than dependent on a one-shot image-generation step.
